Hearts coach Frank Nuttall is delighted with the output of the Super Clash against Kotoko despite his side being pegged back by their rivals.

Kwame Kizito had got Hearts dreaming of a league double over Kotoko but Saddick Adams’ penalty ensured those dreams vanished into thin air.

Both sides had periods of dominance and on the balance of play, a draw seemed a fair result in an action packed game.

And for Nuttall, who supervised only his second Super Clash on the touchline, both clubs served a spectacle for their fans.

"It was very exciting game because both teams came out to play but we felt a little bit ahead of them only that we did not make it count in terms of the final results," Nuttall said.

"But I must congratulate both teams, it was a fantastic game. Had we taken our chances in the first half, we could have emerged victors. In the second half, they [Kotoko] came out strongly but were fortunate to get a goal through Kizito, and to be honest it looked like we were going to run away with the three points but for the controversial penalty."

Judging from the Scots words, the Phobians had doubts over the penalty decision and playmaker Winful Cobbinah did not hold back his words on the decision.

The Black Stars player who earned great reviews for a dominant display felt the referee had an ulterior motive of deciding the tie in their opponents favour.

"We didn’t lose concentration and stamina at any point in the game, only that they came up tops after getting the equalizer, and I think the referee was also with them. I can say this without blinking because you could see the penalty he awarded them, a very poor call from him," Cobbinah fumed.

"He intentionally decided to let Kotoko back in the game. It's bad for Ghana football if we want our game to reach the level we crave for. A game of this magnitude needs a fair officiating but today we didn't get one."

The Phobians next league encounter will be a regional derby against Great Olympics.
