Leading Sunni clerics say it is the responsibility of all Ghanaian Islamic figures and social movements to preserve internal unity, particularly among Muslims of all kinds for Ghana's development.
Speaking at Islamic Iftar to break their fast, the clerics agree internal unity is a good way to pursue plans aimed at creating enable environment for development.
Concerns were been raised about Muslim communities remaining underdeveloped, even though it is one of the oldest settlements in the history of the country.
The clerics took turns to suggest how they can help develop Muslim communities to reduce the burden on government.
It was just a normal iftar organized by Deputy National Chief Imam of Ahlussuna, Sheikh Mohammed Kamil Mohammed but they discussed issues left unattended to for many years.
Both young and old Muslim clerics dine on the same table and share opinions on how they could make things happen for the benefit of all.
"If the Muslims are united, we can develop our communities and reduce the burden on government," he says.
Sheikh Kamil stated there should not be misunderstanding among Muslim clerics who understand the Islamic religion better.
He said that all hands must be on deck to resolve many challenges confronting the Muslim communities and raise responsible children who will become better leaders tomorrow.
Other Islamic scholars like Ashanti regional Imam of Ahlussuna, Sheikh Ismail Saeed Adam, Nayional Da'awah committee vice chairman, Sheikh Abdul-Razak Mohammed Swallah, and lecturer at University of Education, Dr Abass Shamsudeen also add their voice to call and appeal to Muslim to make this change happen.
The Sunni Muslim plan to raise money for developmental projects in various communities across the country.
They say the development of the country is not just the responsibility of a government, but every citizen.
