Sunderland defender Anton Ferdinand says he is honoured to be playing alongside Ghana captain John Mensah.
The pair have formed Sunderland's defensive partnership in recent weeks and the former West Ham player says playing alongside Mensah has helped.
Ferdinand admits there has been a process of adjustment when the two were put together, but says the transition shouldn't be too much of a problem.
And Mensah's class is making the job of moving from right back to centre-half an easier one.
"We're both professionals and we both know our jobs," Ferdinand said. "Obviously we have had to get to know each other's style of play, but that comes with games.
"It's a honour to play alongside the captain of Ghana and a player of that stature and calibre. I can only learn from someone like John Mensah and I'm just happy to be playing."
