The General Overseer of Accra-based SpiritLife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun, has extended a massive hand of assistance to struggling gospel musician, Edward Akwasi Boateng.
The veteran gospel musician became a topic on social media after he was spotted selling copies of his music on pen drives and CDs last week, to make ends meet.
According to the musician, life became unbearable to the point where he lost his marriage despite the huge investments he committed to the union.
This forced him to take up several menial jobs including selling his songs on pen drives and CDs to support himself and his family.
A video of him selling the pen drives and CDs with a megaphone at a bus terminal in Kumasi has since gone viral on social media.
In an interview on Akoma FM in Kumasi, the singer narrated his grace to grass story.
But starting today, Mr Akwasi Boateng will have a new feel of life following the gesture done to him by Prophet Bernard El Bernard Nelson Eshun.
At a service on Sunday morning, February 25, the benevolent preacher first promised to enroll all of Akwasi Boateng's children on his scholarship scheme till they exit the university. A brand new car was also handed over to the singer, plus a promised monthly remittance which the preacher did not disclose.
According to him, he had come across the video of the man selling his music on pen drives and CDs and was particularly touched after he found some netizens insulting God for the man's current state.
The Prophet said he was angered by that because he was fully aware that life's storms can hit anyone, adding that he had gone through his storms and was still experiencing them in different forms.
Addressing the congregation, the charismatic preacher explained that, his intervention was in appreciation of the good works of the musician and his unwavering commitment to the body of Christ.
"You have touched the body of Christ. You have fought for the kingdom", El Bernard noted.
Overwhelmed by the kind gesture, a visibly emotional Akwasi Boateng appreciated the minister in a warm and emotional embrace. He now returns to Kumasi, a happier man, compared to his previous state.
Edward Akwasi Boateng is known for his many striking tunes, including his hit-maker, 'Adea Mepe Nyinaa'. His touch on his accordion has always brought relief to Christians, especially during his active ministry years.
