August kicked off in Belgium with Stonebwoy performing at the 2024 Reggae Geel Festival.
On August 3rd, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2024 Artiste of the Year made a standout return to one of Europe's biggest reggae festival stages, eight years since his historic debut in 2016, joining a roster of reggae and afrobeats heavyweights for an unforgettable showcase.
In front of a crowd of over 50,000 at Geel’s Belse Bossen, the Ghanaian international star took the gold stage with an energetic performance that spanned his history of major hits.
He ran through an incredible hour-long set that featured fan favourites—“Run Go,” “Ekelebe,” “Shuga,” “Everlasting,” “Into The Future,” “Your Body,” “Hero,” “Activate,” and more—creating a distinctive atmosphere and solidifying his position as one of the leading voices in the reggae scene from Africa.
Stonebwoy showcased calm confidence and elegance, rocking a custom-designed ensemble featuring reflective material, detachable zippers, and stone embellishments.
His four dancers, in matching outfits with flowing sleeves, enhanced the dynamic choreography.
Vibrant animations of lions, cowries, and a stone head with a lightning eye on the screen also added visual flair to the performance.
After his commanding performance, legendary Jamaican reggae & dancehall icon, Luciano lauded Stonebwoy for his consistency in pushing the dancehall culture and expressed interest in collaborating with him.
"You are hard working. I love your work, I want us to work on a collaboration," he said.
Stonebwoy's musical prowess continues to garner global acclaim, evidenced by his recent dominance at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, where he scooped up seven prestigious awards including Artist of the Year.
This year has seen him publish well-received singles like “Ekelebe” and “Your Body,” as well as deliver standout performances at festivals such as Summerjam Festival in Germany, Austin Reggae Festival, CaliVibes Festival in the US, and Island Music Festival in Jamaica.
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy is set to release his third official single of the year titled "Pray For Me," a heartfelt plea song featuring legendary musician Wyclef Jean.
The song will arrive on Friday, August 9th alongside an inspirational video shot in London.
