Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah believes the backroom staff of the national team should be dissolved after the team finished fourth in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations.
The country’s chances of winning the trophy for a fifth time was halted by Cameroon in the semifinals of the competition when they beat the Black Stars by 2 goals to nil.
West African neighbours, Burkina Faso deepened the woes of the team after beating them by a lone goal in in third place fixture.
Head coach of the team, Avram Grant has resigned as head coach of the Black Stars team.
But ‘Tornado’ Appiah who led Ghana to its first ever World Cup appearance in Germany wants the entire backroom staff fired over poor performance exhibited in Gabon.
“For me I think they should dissolve the entire backroom staff, not only Grant but the entire technical team.
“We need a total overhaul in the technical team; you can’t sack only the Coach and leave the rest. He was working with them so you have to dissolve the entire team.” He added.
Ghana will now be hoping to break the trophy in 2019 in Cameroon.
