Former Ghana Skipper Stephen Appiah says the Black Stars will put up a more spirited performance at next year's Fifa world cup tournament next year following their qualification on Tuesday night.
The Black Stars booked their place at next year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil after a 7-3 aggregate scoreline against the Pharaohs of Egypt, despite the hosts winning 2-1.
Appiah, who captained Ghana to reach the knock out stage at the 2006 World Cup and quarter finals at the 2010 World Cup respectively, told Asempa FM Sports Nite that the Black Stars have the quality and experience in World Cup matches to advance further in next year's Mundial.
"There is something special about the Black Stars. The 2006 World Cup was our first time experience of playing in the World Cup. But we managed to reach the knock out phase only to lost to Brazil," Appiah said.
"There was a progress in the 2010 World Cup after reaching the quarter finals and we were the only African country to do well in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups."
"I can assure that the Black Stars will put up a wonderful display with their World Cup experience, and reach the semi finals in Brazil."
"Let's wait for the draw and see the teams we will get in our group but I believe we will do better in Brazil."
The draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be held in Costa do Sauipe on the Atlantic coast of Bahia state on December 6.
