Stephen Appiah is delighted to have captained Italian side Cesena insisting his leadership qualities are showing at the Serie A side.
Appiah, who joined the club at the start of the season, captained Cesena for the first time during their 1-1 draw with Parma.
Cesena started the season brightly but in recent weeks had suffered three defeats in a row so this draw against Parma will come as a good halt to the slide and confident booster for the whole team.
It was a hard fought draw and Cesena had to dig deep to keep Parma at bay.
Infact it was Cesena who took the lead and Parma equalised before the end of the first half.
“The coach gave me the arm band last weekend and I am proud that I captained Cesena for the first time this season,” Appiah said.
“It is an honour to captain any team anytime but I must stress we have a general captain and he will always be the main man.
“I am looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully I can keep contributing to the good work of the team and for the good of Cesena Football Club.” Appiah concluded.
Cesena now sit in 13th position in Serie A and play Chievo next Sunday.
