StarLife Assurance Limited has made a presentation of assorted items and a cheque to the Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home at Kodjo Ashong in the Amasaman Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
This forms part of its 17th Anniversary celebrations.
The items donated include bags of rice, bags of beans, gallons of oil, provisions, drinks, cleaning detergents, exercise books, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, and poster colours, among others. StarLife also made a cheque donation of ¢10,000 to the Home.
The orphanage which has been operating for seven years currently has about 40 children aged between four years and 15 years under its care. Operated by Roman Catholic Nuns of the Accra Archdiocese, Kressner Handmaids Orphanage also operates the Divine Provident School which is open to children in the community.
Presenting the items, the Chief Operations Officer of StarLife Assurance, Bernice Quainoo, stated that “We have always prioritized the well-being of children in our social impact initiatives and as part of our 17th anniversary this year, we decided to come and support the Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home with some items and cash donation.”
“Christmas is fast approaching and these items will enable the children also enjoy the festivities without feeling left out.
"We appreciate the good works that the Roman Sisters are doing here and we want to assure them of our support to give the children a good future”, she added.
The Administrator of Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home, Mary Alice Kezier Kizita Otoo, who received the items, said, “we are very grateful to StarLife Assurance for thinking about us in these challenging economic times. Benefactors like you keep this home running and give hope to these children.”
She assured StarLife that not only would the items be used for the maximum benefit of the children, but Kressner would always remember the love shown to them.
