Star Oil has expressed its condolences to the deceased police officer's family and the Ghana Police Service following the fatal robbery attack at one of its fuel stations on Thursday.
A young police officer was gunned down in a bullion van by four armed robbers at Star Oil's Fan Milk Station at Ablekuma in Accra.
Star Oil in a statement said, "Star Oil is deeply saddened to announce an armed robbery attack at our Ablekuma Fanmilk station on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at approximately 1:30 PM. The robbers attacked the van a few minutes after it arrived for cash collection at the station."
The company assured its customers and the public that "as a responsible organisation, we have adequate security systems at our stations to aid police investigations."
"We also use this opportunity to admonish the general public to exercise caution in publishing unverified accounts of the incident,"they added.
According to Star Oil, they will provide further details on the incident after subsequent consultations with the Ghana Police.

Meanwhile, the Police Service is on a manhunt to arrest the suspects.
They assured the public that they will not renege until the suspects are arrested and prosecuted.
“We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the robbers arrested to face justice.”
