Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited has donated a cash cheque and state-of-the-art digital presentation equipment to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) Business School.
The GHS50,000 cheque and the state-of-the-art equipment valued at GHS 200,000and is to support the upcoming KNUST Business week.
Standard Chartered Bank has also equipped the business school’s lecture auditorium with a GHS150,000 worth modern presentation equipment to boost teaching and learning.
The LED Equipment includes two Samsung 65-inch television sets to aide the flow of information in the lecture hall. It comes with a separate display screen which allows a switch between presentation and writing with a stylus pen.
Head of Retail at Standard Chartered Bank, Yvonne Fosua Gyebi says the digitization of the Business school’s lecture auditorium forms part of its digitization agenda.
“In addition to the sponsoring sum of GHS50,000, which makes us the headline sponsor for the business week celebration, we are also handing over the state-of-the-art digital presentation equipment, which we believe would go a long way to facilitate teaching and learning in your new and beautiful lecture auditorium,” she said.
“These interventions align with our digital agenda because at Standard Chartered, digitization remains at the heart of our business strategy and we will continue to invest and innovate," she added.
Standard Chartered’s relationship and presence on the campus of KNUST is about 50 years old.
Speaking at a short ceremony at the KNUST Business school to present the cheque and officially inaugurate the equipment, Madam Fosua Gyebi noted that Standard Chartered’s continuous relationship with the University is predicated on delivering seamless banking services and supporting KNUST as a school.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Prof Ellis Owusu Daboh who received the donation on behalf of the school, pledged to brand the facilities of the business school with the bank's paraphernalia as a show of appreciation.
Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited has been named Best Consumer Digital Bank in Ghana by the Global Finance Magazine for the 8th consecutive year.
