Stanbic Bank on Saturday walloped Interplast Ghana by three goals to nil at the Accra Technical Training Centre soccer pitch to lift the giant trophy at stake in a four-team invitational tournament.
The tournament, hosted by Stanbic, formed part of activities marking the 10th anniversary celebrations of the bank’s operations in Ghana.
Metro TV won bronze after dismissing MTN 2:0 in the third place play off.
Stanbic prior to the finals, had dispatched Metro TV 5:3 on penalties, while Interplast accounted for MTN 2:1.
The fast paced final saw Stanbic, led by skipper Daniel Gyasi, playing like a league side, coordinating defence and midfield seamlessly to the admiration of the scant spectators.
It came as no surprise when Stanbic opened the scores with a carefully worked goal finished off by Musah Abdallah ahead of the Stanbic attack.
Sustained pressure saw Interplast’s Fred Arhin struggle with his goalkeeper to clear what appeared a harmless goal attempt before Arhin planted the ball in his own net to register an own goal for Stanbic before the break.
