Sports Minister-designate, Mr. Kofi Humado has told Joy Sports he is upbeat about his chances as he comes up against the vetting Committee of Parliament later this morning.
The Anlo Member of Parliament is in line to succeed Akua Sena Dansua who was affected by a government reshuffle at the beginning of the year.
The 58-year-old who is an economist by training will become the fourth person after Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, Rashid Pelpuo and Dansua to man the Ministry in President Mills' two-year administration.
Mr Humado said experience will be his strong point at the vetting Committee.
“It is not going to be easy but I will rely on my experience to go through,” he said.
Meanwhile, journalist Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has said he was confident Mr Humado will get the nod to head the ministry.
He told Joy Sports’ Dennis Mirpuri that when approved Mr Kofi Humado should steer off controversy at the Sports Ministry.
Ampofo Ankrah said the minister should go into the ministry with an open mind, maintaining that suggestions that the ministry was riddled with 'a mafia' who orchestrated the downfall of appointees are false.
