In a landmark event aimed at amplifying the voices of Ghanaian girls and children, the Speak Up for a Change Ghana Foundation has been officially launched in Aflao in the Volta Region.
The inauguration of this foundation marks a significant step forward in addressing critical issues faced by young girls and children across the nation.
The launch attracted a gathering of influential figures, community leaders, and passionate advocates all rallying behind the cause as well as school girls and boys.
Notably, one of the leading voices at the event was Torgbui Henyo Aglasu III, a prominent chief from Ketu South, based in the UK, who graciously sponsored the launch.
Speaking on the occasion, Torgbui Henyo Aglasu III emphasized the importance of such initiatives in championing the rights and well-being of girls and children in Ghana.
His support signifies a united effort to create a better future for the younger generation, ensuring they have access to education, healthcare, and protection from harmful practices. Torgbui Henyo Aglasu III noted that issues relating to the girl child must be prioritized by all stakeholders to help shape them into better women in society.
The founder of Speak Up for a Change, Adzowavi Sakponou Adenka, shared her impassioned vision for the foundation. Adenka highlighted the urgent need to address the challenges faced by girls and children in Ghana, including access to quality education, healthcare services, and protection from all forms of abuse.
"I founded Speak Up for a Change with the belief that every girl and child in Ghana deserves a chance to thrive," said Adzowavi Sakponou Adenka. "Through this foundation, we aim to provide a platform for their voices to be heard, their rights to be upheld, and their dreams to be realized."
The Speak Up for a Change Ghana Foundation has already garnered support from key stakeholders, including Redeemer Senyo Kawor, the Ghana country director.
Kawor emphasized the foundation's commitment to working closely with communities, policymakers, and institutions to drive meaningful change.
"We are dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that address the root causes of the challenges faced by girls and children in Ghana," stated Redeemer Senyo Kawor. "Our goal is to build a future where every child can grow up in a safe, nurturing environment and achieve their full potential."
Adding to the chorus of support was Mama Hodzige II, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Municipal Director, who commended the foundation's efforts in advocating for the rights of girls and children.
"The Speak Up for a Change Ghana Foundation is a beacon of hope for our girls and children," remarked Mama Hodzige II. "By amplifying their voices and championing their rights, we are building a brighter and more equitable future for all."
The launch event concluded with a renewed sense of commitment and purpose among attendees, all united in the mission to create a better tomorrow for Ghana's girls and children.
