The Economic Crime Section of the Madrid prosecutor’s office has filed a claim of tax fraud against Jose Mourinho.
The prosecutors allege that the current Manchester United manager defrauded the state over image rights in 2011 and 2012 during his time at Real Madrid.
In a statement, the prosecutor’s office said that Mourinho owes €3.3 million in tax, adding that they had submitted the claim with the local court.
Mourinho's former player Cristiano Ronaldo has been hit with similar charges in recent weeks, leading to heavy speculation that he will leave Madrid. Ronaldo and Mourinho share an agent, Jorge Mendes.
