The South Africa Football Association (SAFA) has warned Ghana that they will face stiff sanctions if they bring a second-rate Black Stars team for their friendly later this month.
According to SAFA the Ghana Football Association (GFA) agreed to send its key World Cup players for the game to be played in Johannesburg on 11 August.
Players like Andre Ayew, Kevin Prince Boateng, Isaac Vorsah, John Mensah, Richard Kingston, Anthony Annan and Asamoah Gyan are expected by the South African to be paprt of the squad.
SAFA has assured Bafana fans that Ghana are contractually bound to bring the bulk of the team that missed out on becoming the first African nation to reach the semifinals of theWorld Cup.
SAFA chief executive Leslie Sedibe: “Ghana appeared quite happy to agree to this condition. So we do not expect any complications.
“The contract also stipulates stiff penalties for Ghana should they renege on the guarantee to bring the nucleus of the team that thrilled soccer followers during the World Cup.”
The Black Stars have already hinted that some new players will be given the chance to impress coach Milovan Rajevac.
Greece-based Bennard Kumordzi, who was not part of the World Cup squad says he has already been handed an invitation for the game.
Some other players who missed the World Cup are expected to be invited for the game.
