The Ghana Football Association will this Saturday 13th August, 2012 hold its annual awards event for players who excelled in the just ended 2010/2011 Premier League.
Asempa Fm’s Patric Osei Agyemang (Countryman Songo) who christened the 2010/2011 season the “Super Fantastic League”, is to be honoured for promoting the League.
Many soccer fans lost interest in the league due to its poor patronage at the various stadia but Songo, as he is popularly known, defied the odds, held faith in the game and kept promoting it to the very last whistle which saw Brong Ahafo Region’s Berekum Chelsea emerge as winners.
Songo, who hosts the “Fire for Fire” programme on Asempa Fm and Adom TV on Multi TV between 12:00 midday and 2pm from Monday to Friday, will be presented with an award for promoting the 2010/2011 Glo Premier League.
Songo told Asempa News he is delighted at the recognition given him by the PLB and said he will dedicate the award to his grandmother whom he shares the same birthday with.
