President of the Ghana Olympic Committee B.T Baba has indicated that some interested parties in the run up to the GOC elections have a hidden agenda to mar the process.
The Ghana Olympic Committee has been in turmoil over who succeeds the current President, Mr. B.T. Baba leading to a ban on Ghana, but it seems the end of this unending feud will not come soon as some interested parties are not ready to relinquish their entrenched positions.
According to the GOC President, the International Olympic Committee, after lifting Ghana’s ban in August, mandated the GOC to see to the organization of the committee’s election as soon as possible and that is exactly what his team has sort to do.
Mr. B.T Baba in an exclusive interview on Asempa Fm’s Sports Morning Show revealed that all the misgivings that the people who opposed the road map to elections raised have been dealt with and that he does not understand why some people are reluctant to adhere to rules governing the electioneering process.
He wondered why after the famous four-year experience required for running for the President was removed, those same individuals have failed to fulfill their part of the bargain.
He noted that if there is anybody who does not want the smooth orgnaisation of the elections and smooth transition, then it is those who are unwilling to follow the process.
The GOC President however reiterated that come Saturday 29th, October, 2011 the elections will come on.
