Many Ghanaians are thrilled that two of Ghana’s best rappers, Sarkodie and M.anifest, have joined the ongoing discussion on racism across the world with a new track Brown Paper Bag.
“When the God MC and the King decide to merge, you know it ain't gonna be nothing less of legendary. @sarkodie @manifestive You guys are great,” one fan wrote on twitter.
The song released on June 18 explores action and inactions of Africans, African Americans and their leaderships which has contributed to the systematic racism black people face today.
The message in #brownpaperbag dier its to our politicians, law makers and leaders. Its to the people who make decisions about this country. Stop selling our country out for small paper bags.
— KALYJAY 👻 (@gyaigyimii) June 19, 2020
For many fans, the words spilt in song and the call for the “United States of Africa” is a message for all to keenly listen and implement.
The United States of Africa

Is what they don’t wanna see
But thats the only way my people can survive
They divide and conquer
With the #brownpaperbag ✊🏿🖤@sarkodie @JumiaGhana #StrongerTogether
Although stans and fans are important for an artiste and his growth, some users believe it is unfortunate some of them are focused mainly on who rapped better than the other forgoing the message at hand.
The generation is more concerned about bars , savages and controversies in music rather than the deep messages it carries . I am so proud of what @manifestive and @sarkodie did with #brownpaperbag and I hope we get to see more of these type of messages because we do need it now!

This’s a wake up call for us as Africans. They use supernatural powers for electronics, that’s true cus science is spirit, it’s time to channel our African Voodoo for something profitable to the world at large. This’s our heritage, it’s not evil. #brownpaperbag
