The young striker responded to his Ghana snub by scoring the winner for Helsingborg on Sunday
Striker David Accam reminded coach Kwesi Appiah of his goal scoring prowess hours after being left out of Ghana's World Cup squad when he scored the only goal for Helsingborg to record a 1-0 win over Falkenberg.
The 23-year-old midfielder came on in the 18th minute for Robin Simovic and he scored 26 minutes later, his seventh for the season to chalk his side's first victory in their last four matches to move Helsingborg to the ninth spot on the log.
Accam was left out of the final 23-man Black Stars’ World Cup squad alongside Jeffery Schlupp and Jerry Akaminko.
Ghana left Netherlands for USA to play their final friendly game against Korea Republic before leaving for the global football showpiece in Brazil.
