The Upper West Regional Minister, Ambrose Dery has called on farmers in the Sissala East District and the region in general to focus on the production of Kapala and grafted mango this year.
He said government is ready to assist farmers go into the production of these two crops.
Mr. Dery was addressing the Sissala East District People's Assembly in Tumu. He said apart from the economic gains that will be derived from Kapala and grafted mango, the crops will also contribute to the realisation of food sufficiency.
As part of moves to solve the problem of shortage of teachers, the DCE said 167 teacher trainees are also being sponsored 273 million cedis.
Some of the concerns raised by the participants at the forum included the need for electrification of more communities, provision of potable water, access to the National Youth Employment Programme as well as the construction of more classroom in the rural communities.
