Former Chief Executive of AngloGold Ashanti, Sir Sam Jonah, has underscored the critical role of teamwork in achieving and maintaining business success.
Speaking at the Gold Coast University Leadership Conversation on Saturday, March 22, in Accra, Sir Sam Jonah highlighted that effective leadership is not only about personal vision but also about fostering collaboration within a team to drive lasting results.
Addressing an audience in a panel discussion, Sir Sam explained that the ability to trust and empower those around you is one of the key qualities of a successful leader.
He emphasised that business leaders should not try to shoulder every responsibility on their own but should instead focus on building a cohesive team where each member can contribute their strengths.
The Gold Coast University Leadership Conversation is part of an ongoing series of events aimed at providing a platform for dialogue on leadership and management practices in Africa.
Sir Sam Jonah’s speech, delivered with his trademark candour, encouraged the next generation of leaders to focus on building strong, collaborative teams to drive growth and innovation.
