Local automobile distributor Silver Star Auto Limited has denied ever being implicated in a bribery scandal involving the Ghana Armed Forces.
A US court is set to rule on the case in which the agents of the German car maker, Daimler are said to have bribed public officials in many countries, including Ghana.
The Ghana Armed Forces has been named as a beneficiary in exchange for contracts awarded between 1997 and 2008 for the supply of vehicles.
Legal Manager for Silver Star Hazem Chalabi tells Joy News it is a case of mistaken identity.
According to him, all court documents in US name the company involved in the alleged bribery as Star Auto SA, and not Silver Star as many have reported.
“Silver Star has not been mentioned we have never been asked to appear before any court or any such matter,” he insisted.
He said the negative reports have been damaging to the company.
