Senior high school finalists are to report to school on June 22 for six weeks of studies after which they will write their exit exams.
The examinations will span across five weeks after the tutoring period, Education Minister, Matthew Opoku-Prempeh has announced.
“They will be there for academic work and revision for six weeks do their West Africa Examination Council, the Ghana exams that we understand will take five weeks,” Dr. Opoku-Prempeh said.
He explained the Ghana office of WAEC has been consulted to set the papers specific to the country since other countries in the sub-region are tackling the pandemic and its effects uniquely.
The Minister also directed that there should be no assemblies, religious activities or any mass gatherings when the schools re-open.
Visitors would also not be allowed in the schools, all in a bid to prevent an outbreak in the institutions.
Lessons will start 9am and are expected to end at 1pm, Dr. Opoku-Prempeh said.
The Minister’s updates follow President Akufo-Addo’s easing of restrictions on educational institutions across the country on Sunday.
The president gave the green-light to finalists in Junior High, Senior High and universities to report to school to prepare for their exit exams.
