Bright Ladzekpo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PHD Ghana Media Limited, has advised creatives to consider the recent technological changes in media and marketing while pitching their content for sponsorship.
Speaking at the third edition of Joy FM’s ‘Showbiz Roundtable’, she said there is a major shift in the landscape for media and marketing that should inform the decisions event organizers and content creators make while seeking deals from companies.
“If you look at the landscape today, there is a huge explosion. You don’t hear any sound but there is a very huge explosion that has taken place,” he said.
He further noted that “typically, when an explosion happens you see something. People run. But when there is an explosion that is quiet, you probably wouldn’t take notice of it, you can’t run. And it creeps on you gradually and then you are found wanting.”
According to Ladzekpo, those in the demand side, much as the people in the supply side are struggling to survive.
“We are also in the same situation because there is fast paced change that is happening all over the landscape,” he reiterated.
Due to the explosion in the media which has spawned new forms of technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI), he said it is important to put some trends and thoughts on the table.
“After COVID there are so many things that we have learnt. There is a lot of data we have collected, trends we’ve spotted that are now informing our decisions,” he noted.
Bright Ladzekpo and playwright Uncle Ebo Whyte were the keynote speakers of the Showbiz Roundtable which was held on July 29, 2023.
