An Inspector of Police who murdered his girlfriend at Adum in Kumasi has told the court his reason for ending his lover's life.
According to him, the lady owed him an amount of GH¢5,000 which she had reportedly refused to settle.
Emotional Ahmed Twumasi told the court on Tuesday, April 25, that he had no intention of killing his lover.
The Inspector is being charged with murder after shooting his girlfriend multiple times on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
He is also said to have used a service pistol to undertake the dastardly act against 26-year-old Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maadwoa.
During the hearing at the Asokore Mampong District Court, Insp. Ahmed Twumasi said only God knows what happened on the day of the incident.
JoyNews‘ Ohemeng Tawiah reports that relatives of the deceased broke down in court as the prosecution read details of the case on events leading to the shooting.
Some of them threatened to accost the suspect who was whisked away after by security the day’s proceeding.
