Serene Insurance, a prominent general insurance company and a member of the First Sky Group has continued its nationwide expansion by opening a new branch office in Takoradi.
This latest addition brings the total number of Serene Insurance operational offices to ten, with a network of over 200 active agents across Ghana. This expansion aligns with the company’s strategic goal of becoming a leading voice in the insurance industry by 2027.
Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse emphasized that the opening of the Takoradi branch is aimed at making insurance services more accessible to the people of the Western Region. “This is a testament to our commitment to overcome all barriers to the economic upliftment of the people of the Western Region, by creating jobs for the unemployed youth. We will continue to be a strategic partner in your forward march towards prosperity, peace, and development of this region,” Mr Kutortse stated.
At the opening ceremony, Mrs Mercy Naa Koshie Boampong, Chief Executive Officer of Serene Insurance, highlighted the significance of the Takoradi branch as a reflection of the company’s growth and expansion. “Our entry into the Western Region through Takoradi marks our permanent presence and reflects our growth and expansionary posture and positioning,” she said.
Mrs Boampong noted that since its inception over six years ago, Serene Insurance has established a reputation as a provider of reliable and cost-effective insurance products and services.
The company was recognized as the fastest-growing insurance company in Ghana in 2022. “We promise nothing less than cutting-edge customer and product service delivery to our clientele here in Takoradi as we look forward to an enduring, rewarding business relationship with you,” Mrs Boampong assured.
She also announced the upcoming launch of two new products: the Enhanced Motor Insurance Policy and the Events Liability Policy, which will be introduced by the end of 2024. The Events Liability Policy, for example, will cover liabilities associated with events, including damage to insured property and public liability claims against the insured.
Justice Peprah Agyei, Western Regional Manager of the National Insurance Commission (NIC), delivered a solidarity message, emphasizing the crucial role of insurance in national development. He praised Serene Insurance for its commitment to expanding access and penetration in the Western Region, promoting inclusivity, and upholding clients' interests through robust governance and policy direction.
Nana Asante Kojo II, Chief of Assakae and Chairman for the occasion commended Serene Insurance for its bold initiative. He expressed hope that the company would continue to expand its presence in other parts of the Western Region, thereby deepening access to insurance products and services while creating jobs and eliminating barriers to economic upliftment.
Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, Western Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Takoradi, welcomed Serene Insurance's entry into the region. He expressed excitement about the increased competition and enhanced quality of insurance products available to both prospective and existing clients.
