Rwanda coach Sellas Tetteh is keeping his counsel to himself on the vacant Black Stars coaching job, with his name certain to figure high on the list of favourites.
Tetteh is viewed by many as potentially the next Black Stars boss, but says he will not be drawn on the prospects of taking that job.
“I am concentrating on Rwanda in the meantime because I am enjoying the work I have started here,” he tells KickOffGhana.com. “Anything relating to the Ghana job must wait until someone from the Ghana Football Association says something to me.”
Tetteh’s credentials makes him the odds-on Ghanaian for the job at this stage. He took the national Under-20 side to the African and world titles after serving as an assistant coach and stand-in coach at the Black Stars prior to that.
Tetteh was Ratomir Dujkovic’s right-hand man as Ghana qualified for the 2006 World Cup and again at the tournament itself in Germany, where they reached the second round.
He also assisted Frenchman Claude LeRoy during the 2008 Nations Cup before taking charge the Black Stars in the opening four games of the 2010 World Cup qualifier when they won three games and lost one.
