Member of Parliament for Sehwi Wiawso, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, has donated health consumables valued at GH₵400,000 to the Sehwi Wiawso Municipal Health Directorate in the Western North region.
The donation is expected to bolster healthcare delivery in the region, was officially handed over at a ceremony held at the Municipal Health Directorate. The donation includes essential medical supplies such as gloves, surgical masks, antiseptics, syringes, and other critical consumables, all aimed at improving healthcare services in the municipality.
Dr. Afriyie, who is also a former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, expressed his commitment to enhancing the health sector in his constituency and ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare services.
“This donation is a testament to my continuous efforts to support the healthcare system in Sehwi Wiawso. I believe that the availability of these vital supplies will help our health professionals provide better care to the people in the region, especially in this challenging period,” Dr. Afriyie remarked during the presentation.
He further emphasised the importance of collaboration between government officials, local communities, and healthcare providers in achieving sustainable development in the health sector. Dr. Afriyie urged other stakeholders to support initiatives that will improve healthcare delivery in rural areas.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Sehwi Wiawso Municipal Health Directorate, the acting Municipal Health Director, Dr. Isaac Tetteyfio expressed gratitude for the timely assistance, especially as health facilities face rising demand and resource constraints.
“We are very grateful for this generous donation. It comes at a time when health facilities in the municipality need supplies to meet the growing healthcare demands. These consumables will go a long way in helping us provide the best care for our patients,” Dr. Tetteyfio stated.
The donation is part of Dr. Afriyie’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the development of the Sehwi Wiawso constituency and improve the well-being of its residents through enhanced healthcare infrastructure and support.
