The construction firm that worked on the Sefwi Akontombra Hospital, Vemed Health Project Ghana Ltd has officially handed over the project to the Health Ministry and the Western North Regional Health Directorate.
The handing over is to facilitate processes for stakeholders to commission and operationalise the edifice.
In the presence of the team handing over of the facility were the project coordinator for the Ministry of Health, Joyce Eryan and her entourage.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra, Alex Djornuboah Tetteh commended the government for the enviable and unprecedented development in the area since the NPP won power in 2016.
The MP stated that the project was started in 2018 and has finally been completed. He appealed to the workers of the facility to work diligently so that residents in the area will benefit from the hospital.
Also, the Chief of Sefwi Akontombra, Nana Kwabena Ebi II commended the President Akufo-Addo and his vice for putting up such a well-equipped hospital in his community.
He promised to provide accommodation for the health workers until the government provide them with accommodation facilities.
