The Sefwi-Anhwiaso Traditional Council has set aside GH¢30,000 (300 million cedis) for the establishment of a Senior High School (SHS) at Sefwi-Anhwiaso to absorb the numerous junior secondary school leavers in the area.
The Council has released a kilometre-square plot of land for the construction of the school blocks in 2008, while another SHS is to be established at Sefwi-Awaso by 2010.
Nana Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, Omanhene of the area has said.
He said part of the money accruing from royalties paid by mining firms would be used to finance the schools projects, while appeal for funds from individuals and corporate bodies would also be welcome.
Nana Gyebi said the Council in collaboration with the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly and the District Health Directorate would soon launch a special fund to improve facilities at the District Hospital to enhance quality health care delivery for the people.
The Omanhene said the Council was currently rehabilitating his palace at the cost of 150 million cedis to befit its status.
He commended the working relationship between the District Chief Executive, Mr Kingsley Adjei-Manu and the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Christopher Addai, which had seen more development projects in the District.
