A joint military and police team has retrieved smuggled weapons at Lepusi, a village in the Nanumba North District of the Northern Region.
The weapons were retrieved after a search in some six homes in the town where 14 people were arrested with 14 guns, bows and arrows.
The search was carried out following a tip-off and comes a week after security personnel intercepted some ammunition and a shotgun being transported in a coffin into Bimbilla in preparation for a possible renewed violence between the Kokombas and the Nanumbas.
The joint security team said rampant searches would be carried out in all the villages to prevent an outbreak of war.
Meanwhile two arrested smugglers were still in police custody while the newly arrested were also being held by the Bimbilla police.
