The Second Lady, Hajia Ramatu Mahama, has donated a number of equipment to the Tumu hospital, Gwollu health centre and Nabulo clinic in the Sissala East and West districts on behalf of her non governmental organization, the Rama Foundation.
The donations include hospital beds, mattresses, stretchers, wheelchairs and a computer.
The Sissala East District Director of Health Services, Mr. Thomas Dumba, received the donations for the Tumu hospital on behalf of the institutions and expressed the hospital's gratitude to the Foundation for the gesture.
He said as a hospital in a deprived area, such donations go a long way to help it in solving some of their socio-economic problems.
Hajia Mahama, who is on a three-day visit to the two districts, had earlier on Friday addressed women's groups in Tumu and called on Sissalas, both at home and outside to unite and contribute towards development at home.
Hajia Mahama, herself a Sissala comes from Tumu.
The Tumu Kuoro, Gilbert Bodzo Kanton, appealed to Hajia Mahama to help the two Sissala districts acquire a frequency for their local frequency modulation station, Radio Hope at Tumu.
He expressed his frustration at the silence regarding their application for the frequency allocation.
Hajia Mahama also addressed the chiefs and people of Silbelle, Boti, Sorbelle, Jawia and Lipilime, all in the Sissala West District.
