The Grand Finale of MTN Heroes of Change Season 5 came off on Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
His innovative science set and mobile laboratory redefines practical science education by shrinking a science laboratory into the size of a textbook.
It put him above nine other contenders and landed him the coveted prize of GH¢100,000.
Charles set up his company Dext Technology in Kumasi and has so far sold over 9,000 sets to government and private schools across Ghana.
The project has also seen 550 teachers trained, 370 schools reached, 11 people employed, and 10 businesses directly benefitting from this project which is 100% locally manufactured.
For Charles, the idea that he is creating a new generation of inventors, is everything he could have hoped for.
"Seeing students coming up with innovations with their science sets is exactly the point we've been trying to prove” he stated.
Mr. Antipem’s vision is for every child in Ghana to have access to the science set in the next two years.
“This tool we have created has the chance of transforming science education...We want every student in Ghana to have access to the science set. We want them to learn and build solar panels, robots, electronics and technology because the future is technology.”
The other nine nominees who won in various categories such as Education, Health and Economic empowerment are Diana Adjei, David Hagan, Louisa Enyonam Ansah, Rev Fr. Akologo Dominic Alale Azumah, Justin Yelevielbayire, Mawusi Awity, Daniel Owusu Asiamah, Frank Abeku Adams and Benjamin Akinkang.
Three other category winners will each receive Gh₵30,000. The other six finalists will also receive Gh₵10,000 each. Charles Ofori Antipem Akologo Dominic Azumah Afia Pokua Abeiku Adams Diana Adjei Louisa EnyonamLatest Stories
