The Executive Director of the Ghana School Feeding Program, Dr. Amoako Tuffuor has denied misappropriating funds for the school feeding program.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Wednesday, he said the money was legitimately spent on the program.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Tamale Central, Lawyer Inusah Fuseini had alleged that managers of the school feeding program had misappropriated nearly ¢3 billion of the funds disbursed on cooking inputs.
The MP based his allegations on two letters from the Ministry of Local Government, one of which denies the program a request for ¢1.5 billion to purchase cooking inputs. The other requested explanation for nearly ¢3 billion purportedly spent on kitchen inputs.
But Dr. Tuffuor said the program did not need the ministry to sanction all its spending.
