Dreams FC lost by a lone goal to the Ghana National Under 20 team in a highly-entertaining friendly game at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu on Sunday afternoon.
The cagey encounter was used by Dreams FC as a preparatory game for their crunch league game with Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Wednesday whilst the Black Satellites also used the game to prepare for their African Youth Championship qualifier against Ethiopia or Eritrea.
The game started on a rather slow note and chances were few until attacker Ropapa Mensah connected a looping Isaac Twum cross to the roof of the net in the 18th minute to register the first goal for Under 20.
Dreams FC also came back strongly in the game with Lawson Bekui breaking twice on the flank in the 35 and 41st minute but his final delivery was not good enough to trouble the opposing goalkeeper.
The second half of the game saw both sides bringing in new set of players and it was Dreams FC who benefited most as they took control of the game.
George Dwobeng and Richard Ocran were resolute at the back whilst Leonard Owusu, Emmanuel Anaba, Kobina Essel and Teye Sanchez proved their worth in both midfield and attack respectively.
Dreams FC could have grabbed the equalizer in the 70th minute when Leonard Owusu's shot hit an opponent after Teye Sanchez had done all the work on the left flank.
Issaka Konda defended gallantly in the dying minutes of the game putting the brakes on Kobina Essel who was threatening down the left flank.
Dreams FC will be hoping to build on this performance on Wednesday when they welcome a rejuvenated Kotoko team who have scored five goals in their last two games and conceded only one.
