Nigerian oil company Sahara Energy says it welcomes government’s decision to review the contract that it has had for the past nine years with Ghana.
The company has been delivering oil from Nigeria to Ghana over the years in a deal that drew a lot of controversy compelling the NDC, then in opposition to promise a review of the contract if it wins power.
True to its promise, the Mills administration is reviewing the contract, a decision Sahara appears to be comfortable with.
The statement signed by the company’s director Wale Ajibade is to refute suggestions that government after sidelining Sahara has been unable to secure crude oil for the country.
Sahara which holds the consignment of crude oil sitting off coast of the Tema Harbour also says it supports government’s decision to seek the best way to bring in crude oil for the country’s energy needs and believe they are working extremely hard at it.
