The Russian Ministry of Digital Development has conducted an intensive two-week training programme for 70 cyber security specialists from around the world to combat the increasing threat of cyber-attacks.

Cyber-attacks, which occurred every 44 seconds in 2022, now happen every 39 seconds, underscoring the urgent need for global cooperation and comprehensive cybersecurity training.

This urgency was highlighted at the inaugural Positive Hack Camp in Moscow, an international cyber security training programme launched in August 2024.

The programme aims to become an annual event, addressing the rising demand for practical cybersecurity education.

Participants from 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, and South Africa, engaged in sessions designed to enhance their skills in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure protection.

Director of Customer and Partner Training and Head of Positive Education at Positive Technologies, Yuliya Danchina emphasized the importance of global collaboration in building a resilient cybersecurity landscape.

"The cybersecurity industry worldwide needs strong players capable of training and developing professional talent to create a global, result-driven cybersecurity system."

She added, “Positive Hack Camp is a vital educational project aimed at training local cybersecurity professionals, contributing to the development of a global cybersecurity community and the fight against cyber threats.”

Hosted by Positive Education and CyberEd, subsidiaries of Positive Technologies, the Positive Hack Camp focused on equipping participants with practical skills to tackle contemporary cybersecurity challenges. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Positive Technologies to address the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals.

A key outcome of the camp was the announcement of a strategic partnership between Positive Technologies and Swiss German University (SGU), an Indonesian technical university. This partnership aims to enhance cybersecurity capabilities in Indonesia through tailored educational programmes. It marks a significant step towards building a globally connected cybersecurity workforce, essential in a world where digital threats know no borders.

"The rapid adoption of digital technologies is outpacing the development of cybersecurity in many parts of the world," noted Dr Dipl.-Ing. Samuel P. Kusumocahyo, Rector of SGU. He continued, "We highly appreciate that Positive Technologies, a world-leading information security company, is willing to share its experience and knowledge with us. We look forward to seeing high-level professionals emerge in our country and are happy to partner with a company with such extensive hands-on experience in this area."

Beyond the Positive Hack Camp, Positive Technologies actively organizes events such as the Positive Hack Days (PHDays) festival and the Standoff Cyber battle. These initiatives foster international cooperation among cybersecurity experts, offering a platform to share experiences and hone skills in realistic scenarios, thereby promoting a collective approach to cybersecurity.

The critical need for such collaboration was further emphasized at the recent PHDays Fest in May 2024, which attracted participants from around the globe.
