Ronaldinho has described Ronaldo as his "idol" after the Corinthians striker announced his retirement from football.
Ronaldo said on Monday that the physical stresses football played on his body forced him into retirement.
And, after a hoard of tributes came flooding in for the Brazil legend, Ronaldinho, who won the 2002 World Cup with Ronaldo, added his sentiment.
"Ronaldo for me was an idol," Ronaldinho told the press.
"I was inspired by him in everything. Thanks to him Brazil was recognised in Europe.
"I still cannot realise what has happened. It has left me sad."
