Some players within the local pharmaceutical industry have indicated that a robust electronic pharmacy platform will expand the local pharma value chain.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of NK Pharma, Albert Koranteng, the initiative is welcoming, however, a constant technological advancement would need upgrade to ensure the survival and growth of the sector.
Speaking to Joy Business, he said this will give millions of Ghanaians access to certain medications that they previously did not have. This, he believe will bridge the supply chain gap within the sector.
“In respect to the E-pharma, I believe that’s the way to go. It’s a good idea and we need to push for its effectiveness to support stakeholders within this industry and the local pharmaceutical space”, he said
Government in the 2022 Budget launched the National Electronic Pharmacy Platform to help the sector expand and be part of the new pharmaceutical digital economy to boost sales and generate revenue that can be channeled into research and other medical developments.
E-Pharmacy is a business model that deals with the preparation and sale of prescription and non-prescription drugs as in traditional pharmacies
NK Pharma is a local reliable partner in the pharmaceutical industry that offers quality pharmaceutical products to retailers and other businesses in the industry.
