The year 2016 saw the release of some great music videos.

For the 2017 edition of the Ghana Music Awards, a number of these videos have been shortlisted for the 18th edition of the Ghana Music Awards.

One of these videos will be selected as the ‘Best Music Video of the Year’ at the awards which comes off Saturday, April 8 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC.

Below are the ‘Best Music Video of the Year’ nominees:

Wiyaala – ‘Leno’

‘Leno’ is a Djimba World Production directed by Charlotte Appleton and shot on location in East Yorkshire and St Mary's Abbey, York, courtesy of the Yorkshire Museums Trust.

 

Okyeame Kwame – ‘Small Small’ feat. MzVee

‘Small Small’ is a classic love story of 'puppy love' that triumphs into a grand navy wedding. It is an African love story set in Ghana.
The video was directed by Gyo Gyimah of Phamous Philms and Prince Hilton was the Art Director.

 

Nacee – ‘Yewo Nyame A Yewo Adze’ feat. Ernest Opoku

Yewo Nyame A Yewo Adze was directed by McWillies

 

Flowking Stone – ‘Rapping Drums’

This is a pure representation of Rap and hiphop done the African way. The first of its kind ever made. It is a song that incorporates the various dance ensembles from the different tribes of Ghana. Ranging from Damba, to Adowa, Kete, Agbadja and others.

The video was directed by Xbills Ebenezer. 

 

Manifest – ‘W’ani Aba’ feat. Bisa Kdei

W’ani aba was directed by Garth Von Glehn (Flourish and Multiply)

 

Edem – ‘Nyedzilo’ feat. Rekaado Banks

'Nyedzilo' was directed by Phamous Philms.
