Wa All Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori has stated he deserves to be declared the best player in Ghana due to his output this year in the top flight.
The local Black Stars goalkeeper has been nominated alongside Berekum Chelsea’s Kofi Owusu and Ashanti Gold’s Eric Opoku for the footballer of the season at the upcoming PLB awards.
Ofori believes his performance this year makes him the suitable candidate for the coveted individual award “We thank God for the nomination but I am looking forward to winning the award. That’s my target.”
“I worked very hard this season so it comes as no surprise to me. If I win, I will be glad, otherwise I will still feel privileged.”
Ofori’s great form for his club side earned him a call-up to the Black Stars as well as being number one for the national Olympic team, Black Meteors, and local Black Stars.
