Chelsea moved ten points clear at the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United at the weekend.

The result means that the west London side need just two more wins to confirm their status as league champions for the first time in five years.

The achievement will be in no small part down to the leadership of boss Jose Mourinho, who is initiating a new era of success at Stamford Bridge during his second stint in charge.

And the statistics show just how important the Portuguese coach has been to Chelsea during his two reigns.

The 52-year-old has amassed an incredible 438 points from the 190 league games he has overseen - which translates to 2.31 points per game.

That's a staggering 49 points more than Manchester United have managed in those periods - and the Red Devils have played an extra game.

The ex-Real Madrid boss' Chelsea side have also netted 351 goals and conceded just 120, giving them an astonishing goal difference of 231.

Mourinho's team have proven themselves to be incredibly effective at shutting out the opposition and have kept 102 clean sheers in the 190 matches they have played.

If the Blues overcome Arsenal on Sunday, Mourinho will have the opportunity to lift his third Premier League trophy by defeating Leicester City away from home on the following Wednesday.
