It goes without saying that the inquiry would be which prophesy or what prophecy?
There are several Google results referencing prophecies about the continent of Africa when searching for "Prophecies about Africa." The world's men and women of God have emphasised that Africa is a big continent that is storing prophecies in its belly and waiting for the right moment to give birth.
Even while there may be some truth to the statement, saying that Africa has missed its prophecy may come off as premature and unfair to other African nations given that others are prospering.
We still hear the names of various African nations referenced in the Bible, despite objections from some people and organizations that it was used as a tool for colonising the continent. To name a few, there are nations like Egypt, Libya, and Ethiopia.
Among the aforementioned nations, the prophecy first appeared when the then-Pharaoh of Egypt had a dream many years ago.
According to Genesis Chapter 41:1–53, Pharaoh slept off and dreamt. The dream appeared twice, with Joseph, Jacob's firstborn, indicating to readers know they were both the same dream.
‘17 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “In my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile, 18 when out of the river there came up seven cows, fat and sleek, and they grazed among the reeds. 19 After them, seven other cows came up—scrawny and very ugly and lean. I had never seen such ugly cows in all the land of Egypt. 20 The lean, ugly cows ate up the seven fat cows that came up first. 21 But even after they ate them, no one could tell that they had done so; they looked just as ugly as before. Then I woke up.
22 “In my dream I saw seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk. 23 After them, seven other heads sprouted—withered and thin and scorched by the east wind. 24 The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads. I told this to the magicians, but none of them could explain it to me.”
The people of Egypt were rescued by the accurate and speedy interpretation of the dream, which was clearly expressed.
25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream. 27 The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine.
28 “It is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt, 30 but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land. 31 The abundance in the land will not be remembered, because the famine that follows it will be so severe. 32 The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon. (Emphasis added)
Why were these dreams revealed to Pharaoh, who may not have been a believer at the time, but not to the other people in the world, is the query we would want to pose and seek to address.
According to our beliefs, God occasionally considers individuals; when He determines that they have the ability to assist His people, He would push them with the vision so they might put it into action.
Every human being in the world has experienced these "seven years of plenty and another seven years of hunger," and Africa is not an exception.
Did contemporary Africa heed the prophecy of the Pharaoh?
This question can only be addressed by focusing on what we observe occurring to Africans.
What prophecy is being discussed in this article?
This prophecy talks about seven years of plenty followed by another seven years of hunger. Did Africa follow the example set by this prophecy, which was delivered through Pharaoh and translated by Joseph years ago?
According to the interpretation, there is a pressing need to store money for the seven years of hunger that will follow the seven years of abundance.
53 The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end, 54 and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food. 55 When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph and do what he tells you.”
What is happening in Africa?
Based on a survey by BritishRedCross, 146 million individuals in Africa are estimated to be undernourished. Additionally, according to the UN, 46 million people across Africa, the biggest number of any continent in the world, were hungry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
IS AFRICA NOW ENTERING THE SEVEN YEARS OF PLENTY OF 7 YEARS OF FAMINE?
