The Paramount Queen of Akwamu Traditional Area, Nana Afrakoma II, has advised chiefs to restore their long lost traditional dignity.

Nana Afrakoma II said the deeds of many chiefs have caused traditional authority to lose the respect that was once accorded them.

She said the intrusion of some chiefs in matters outside their jurisdictional authority is part of the reasons for their diminished rectitude.

"There are these people who know nothing about a royal family but call themselves kingmakers who meddle into royal families' issues and cause confusion", she said.

She adds "the woeful adjudication of cases within the traditional authority, influenced by greed, has worn out the honour that was accorded them some years ago" and urged chiefs to desist from such acts.

Nana was speaking to Adom News on her 55th  Anniversary celebration as Akwamumanhemea.

The anniversary amongst other reasons is to purposely raise funds to establish an ultramodern vocational institute for Akwamuman.

The queen says her passion, is to bequeath unto her people a legacy, that, will benefit generations within her traditional area and beyond, especially, young ladies.

The Akwamumanhemea also spoke against the recent brouhaha that stemmed from the introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education into the basic school curriculum that became topical and urged the stakeholders in education to kick against it in case it resurges in the future.

Addressing the durbar, Akwamumanhene Kwafo Akoto III pledged his full support for the construction of the Nana Afrakoma Vocational Institute to fulfil her long-lived dream.

Speaking to Adom News on the sides of the occasion, Chairperson for the day,  Nana Agyakomaa Dufie II, Asante Mamponghemaa extolled Akwamuman, the Paramount Chief and Queen for solidifying the new wind of unity within the chieftaincy setting by inviting royalties from every part of the country.

Nana Dufie entreated other royalties to emulate Akwamuman to foster unity amongst traditional authority.

Other dignitaries that thronged the celebration were Mamfehene, Osabarima Ansah Ansah Sasraku, Asamankesehene, Osabarima Adu Darko, Dodowahene, Okukrubuor Nnetei Kwasi Agyemang, Nii Duodu Nsaki, Otublohum Mantse and many others.
