Some indigenes and royals of West Akim Municipality have extended words of gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Seth Oduro Boadu for harmoniously and peacefully existing with the Asamankese Traditional Authority.
Speaking to JoyNews, the people noted that the MCE has played a significant role in the welfare of the traditional leaders in the area since he assumed office.
According to them, the courtesy been accorded to the chiefs has manifested among other things in the naming of public edifices after some traditional leaders.
“Through the effort of Mr Boadu, the chieftaincy dispute here has been settled. He wanted to make sure that the dispute does not aggreviate to a level that would have escalated. And he has really being of service to the Traditional Council of the area,” a resident said.
In view of this, the people believe that such gestures and ingenuity must be appreciated and would only be frowned upon by authority with centrifugal partisan notion.
Touching on infrastructural projects, the residents indicated that until Mr Boadu assumed office, the West Akim Municipality had not seen any major development, and must be commended for that.
“He is the best MCE that this municipality has had. Since his assumption of office, he has given the municipality a facelift and has embarked on major infrastructure development be it road, school buildings, health facilities and a lot of social initiatives have been undertaken,” another resident stated.
As such, the residents called on President Akufo-Addo to reappoint Mr Boadu as the MCE for the West Akim Municipality to continue his ‘good works’.
