Ghana football superstar Sulley Muntari’s marriage with supermodel Menaye Donkor is on the verge of collapse after months of fights over claims of cheating and the wife’s refusal to have kids, a report in Canada where the woman is based has claimed.
The marriage with the Christian model, which was not popular with the devout Muslim parents of the Black Stars player, is hanging by a thread according to the report by AfriCulture.
It is reported that Menaye has not visited the AC Milan star in their home in Italy since August which is an indication that the love birds are no longer on the same wavelength.
Now the report from Canada where Menaye lives with the rest of her family seems to confirm that they are on the verge of divorcing with Muntari being accused of cheating while Menaye’s insistence on her modelling and acting career thus delaying having kids looks to have taken its toll.
“Their marriage will not survive. They don’t spend much time together and I know that he cheats for sure. No children has also caused a rift between them,” the source exclusively tells Afri-Culture.
The Ghanaian power couple is no stranger to divorce rumors.
Earlier this summer, fans began speculating that there was trouble in paradise when Donkor missed her mother-in-law’s birthday party.
However, the former Miss Ghana’s manager, who is also her sister-in-law, told the media that that she wasn’t able to attend the event because she had other engagements.
Our source also told us that the couple isn’t as happy as they want the public to think and that the divorce will happen — it is just a matter of time.
“They are working hard to save their marriage but by the way it’s not going to work out.”
The news will surely delight Hajia Kande and Alhaji Muniru, the parents of the midfielder, who want a normal Muslim family for their son.
This will also spark hopes for Sahada the America-based long time girlfriend of Muntari as he dated the daughter of a leading Islamic cleric and philantrophist Sheikh Mustapha Ibrahim.
This also adds to the growing number of Ghanaian footballers have problems with their marriages with many ending up as messy divorce cases.
