The regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Na Abdoulaye Yakubu Andani is staying away from the traditional Damba Festival currently ongoing in Yendi.
Traditionally, a celebration of the Damba Festival should receive his approval and participation.
However the Regent contends an arrangement that both Abudus and Andanis should celebrate the event at separate palaces is a recipe for violence which he would not want to preside over.
This was contained in a statement issued to the Northern Regional Security Council and copied to the President, John Agyekum Kufuor.
