We find the statement issued by one Abdullah Sadique a suppose spokesperson for a so called Boling Regent of Abudu gate in Yendi disgusting and preposterous. People like Addullah sadique should rather commend the NDC government for being neutral in the Dagbon matter.
We were in this country when the Abudu supporters with the help of the NPP government in 2002 invaded the Gbewaa palace and murdered the Ya-Naa, Yakubu Andani and forty members of his family. All routes to Yendi on that day were blocked by the military and police contingents and telephone lines to Yendi disconnected for these criminals to carry out their evil plots. These criminals murdered the Ya-Naa and the NPP government quickly announced this in the media.
Today we have people like Abdullah sadique talking of government interference? What interference can be more than what happened in 2002 under the callous NPP government? If the NDC government under President John Evans Atta Mills was that callous like NPP government under John Agyekum Kufuor and allowed the Andanis in 2009 to attack the Abudu supporters what would have been the state of Dagbon now?
The Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Abudulai Andani Yakubu was properly installed as the regent of Dagbon in 2007. He is a legitimate son of Ya-Naa Yakubu Andani II and a legitimate great grandson of Ya-Naa Yakubu I who was the father of Abudu I and Andani I. He has every legitimate right to enskin any chief anywhere whether vacant or occupied skin. The people of Dagbon are sick and tired of these Abudus who with the help of the NPP government in 2002 brought Dagbon to its knees. Dagombas by the actions of these criminals have lost their pride in Ghana. And these people still have the guts to issue empty threats. If they want to demonstrate they should go to Savelugu or Tamale. They are lucky that we have a God-fearing president like Professor John Atta Mills many of them would by now been languishing in jail waiting to be hanged.
We want to remind them that it was as a result of the divisions within the Andani family prior to 2002 that gave them the chance to kill the revered king. This time round if they dare make an attempt they will be thrown into the dustbin of history.
We are calling on all Andani family members to unite behind President Mills and the NDC to build a united Dagbon. We are aware of subtle attempts by some people to cause disaffection between the NDC government and the Andani Family. We have not forgotten our recent past. We have not forgotten the persistent gun shots by NPP supporters during the NPP government. Several of our heroes lost their lives during the callous NPP regime led by JA Kufuor.
May the souls of our fallen heroes including the Ya-Naa Yakubu Andani and forty members of the Gbewaa palace, Alhaji Issah Mobila, the young men and women who were shot and maimed, our sub chief in Gushiegu and some of his people, the little boy who was killed by Baba ….under the NPP regime rest in perfect peace.
Long live the Kampakuya Naa
Long live Dagbon.
