The Central Regional office of the Information Services Department (ISD), on Friday launched a weeklong public education campaign on the re-denomination of the cedi in the Abura Asebu-Kwamankesse (AAK) District.
Five new information cinema vans have been mobilized to undertake the campaign, which would also cover the Assin North and South, Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam and Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa districts.
Launching the campaign, Mr Job Marking, Abura Asebu Kwamankese District Chief Executive, expressed gratitude to the government for making the vehicles available for the exercise and appealed to the people to cooperate with the officials engaged in the exercise to ensure its success.
He said his office would monitor the campaign closely and find solutions to problems that might arise and urged the ISD officials to give the people the needed education on the new cedi since much was not known about it.
According to Mr Emmanuel Hayford, Coordinator of the campaign, talks and films shows would be used to explain the re-denomination of the cedis to members of the public.
